Serene Garden

When I first saw the Serene Garden Bundle in Stampin’ UP! ‘s new 2018-2019 Catalog, I knew it would be fun to use and experiment with. There are so many possibilities between the stamp set and die set that I could go for weeks. Today I’m sharing two completely different styles with you.

First I used a couple of In-Colors; Call Me Clover and Grapefruit Grove. I stamped the corner with Clover, on Clover card stock (4.125″ x 5.375″). Then I stamped it on white card stock (4″ x 5.25″).  I stamped the upper corner and then the sentiment (from Blended Seasons Set). I stamped the bird and flowers on scrap, colored with Grove Blendables, cut them out and affixed them to my design. I mounted both pieces on Grapefruit Grove. I love this color combo. It is so fresh and bright!

My next two cards were an experiment but I really like how they came out. I know I could do something interesting with the die that doesn’t cut but actually works like an embossing folder and just creases the paper. I tried several different rubbing mediums and finally came to one that I like; “Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Wax” in Enchanted Gold by Creative-Expressions.

I ran black card stock through twice, creasing both corners with the die. Then I used a cloth and the gilding wax to rub all over. I did the flowers, butterfly and tag with sentiment in gold & heat embossing. I really like the elegant and antique look of this card.

This last card was done by running black card stock through twice with die. Then I lightly went over the whole thing with my Versamark Ink Pad, similar to the Black Ice Method. I used gold embossing powder and heat embossed the whole thing. I like this too. It is a little bit of different look but I like the wax better. What do you think? Thanks for reading. I welcome your comments!

Nature’s Perfection

OK, maybe I’m a little behind but I finally broke out the SAB Stamp Set “Nature’s Perfection” and the “Sheer Perfection” Vellum Stack. This paper is so much FUN! I love coloring the back and then using my Stylus to “brand” the paper/design where I want.Velum-3It creates a textured wonderland of design. Kind of like reverse painting. Anyway, it is lots of fun. Bucket Full of Apples

This was a fun card to make. I usually shy away from the paper-piercing because it is so tedious but the Essentials Piercing Pack includes a square frame so it made it much easier. I also had fun painting the apples and bucket. I used Crystal Effects (101055) on the apples to make them shine and Shimmer Ink in Frost White (on sale now, 116854) on the bucket to give it a silvery shine. I hope you can see it in the photo. Scroll down to see a list of all the products I used and the dimensions.

Animal Magnetism

My friend is having a luncheon and asked that we dress “Wild and Colorful”. Well, I automatically think of animal prints and bright colors. I want to take her a gift card set that is inspired by the theme. Since Stampin’ Up! doesn’t have any animal print paper, I had to improvise with some paper from another line. However, I used SU card stock and a few of their embellishments; including, Framed Tulip TIEF, Flower Garden TIEF, Basic Pearls Jewel Accents and more.

I love the “Dressed Up Framelit Dies” (130101). They are so versatile and it is so much fun to mix and match. Add in a few punched accessories and the outfits are limitless!
